Future F-16 fighter jets will become an intended target for a potential enemy, said the spokesman of the Air Force of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, during the broadcast of the telethon.
Ignat noted that the preparation of the infrastructure for these aircraft is currently very important, especially in the context of possible military actions. He noted that appropriate infrastructure, such as runways, storage facilities and communication systems, is necessary for the take-off and landing of aircraft.
According to an Air Force spokesman, the main objective is to ensure that enemy forces cannot harm the fighters. "We must do everything possible to ensure that the infrastructure is ready and adapted to these requirements," he emphasized.
Ignat also emphasized that the adaptation process is already underway, and the pilots are actively studying. He noted that Ukrainian pilots continue their training on American F-16 fighters, and the average training period is about six months.
Earlier it was reported that the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, did not grant permission for the F-16 fighter jets destined for Ukraine to fly through her country. She also opposed the joint operation against the unrecognized Transnistria.
