Ilya Yevlash, the former commander of the eastern group of troops, has been appointed the new head of the public relations service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He got this position after replacing Yuriy Ignat. The decision to appoint Yevlash was made in accordance with the Decree of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
The message about this came from the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the Telegram channel. It also indicates that Yevlash previously served as the speaker of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces.
According to the official order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine No. 480 of March 15, 2024, Major Ilya Olegovich Yevlash was appointed to the position of head of the public relations service of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As for Yevlash's work experience, it is known that he previously served as a senior public relations officer at the Ground Forces Command. In addition, he managed the public relations service of the group of forces and means of defense of Kyiv and the press service of the operational-strategic group of troops "Khortytsia".
At the time when Yevlash was choosing defense strategies, he pointed to the enemy's tactics. In particular, he explained that the troops of the Russian Federation usually storm the city of Chasiv Yar in the Bakhmut direction directly. They also try to bypass the settlement on the flanks, but thanks to the protection of the Ukrainian military, these attempts are unsuccessful. The enemy is also trying to break through the Ukrainian defense near Bohdanivka.
