A video in Chernivtsi, showing a teenager brutally beating his girlfriend on a skate park in Zhovtnevy Park on Vorobkevycha Street, has sparked outrage. Despite the fact that the event caused widespread public outcry, as of the morning of August 6, no one had filed an official complaint with the police.
This was reported by the communications department of the Chernivtsi region police. Law enforcement officers have already begun an investigation into the incident, are clarifying all the circumstances of the incident and identifying the persons involved.
A video of the fight was posted on August 5 on the local Telegram public "ХЧ". The footage shows one girl aggressively attacking another - pulling her hair, kneeing her, and pushing her. During the attack, a boy's voice can be heard behind the scenes, shouting obscene words and urging her to hit harder.
It is not yet known what caused the conflict. The video ends with the beaten girl silently leaving the playground.
Despite the lack of an official statement, the police are considering the video as a reason to respond. The investigation will identify the participants in the conflict, the motives, and possible responsibility.
Similar incidents once again raise issues of child safety in public places, witness indifference, and the need for adult intervention.
