In Dnipro, law enforcement officers uncovered a contract killing organized by a 65-year-old man over a long-standing financial conflict. The victim was his acquaintance, who allegedly embezzled someone else's money.
The conflict dates back to 2012. Then the customer gave a notarial power of attorney to an acquaintance to sell his own house. The latter sold the property, but did not return the money to the owner, misappropriating about $40,000.
In September 2025, the pensioner decided to take revenge. He purchased a firearm, studied the future victim's daily routine and the location of surveillance cameras. To implement the plan, he found an executor and paid him an advance of a thousand dollars.
On September 11, police conducted a special operation. They simulated a murder, preparing a photo report that was supposed to convince the customer that the debtor was "dead." After that, the man was detained.
During the searches, a traumatic weapon, binoculars, a balaclava, and other evidence were found on him. He is currently in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
