In Lviv, law enforcement officers exposed a 24-year-old resident of Radekhov who was organizing illegal border crossings for men of draft age who were trying to avoid mobilization.
According to the National Police of Lviv Region, the man offered clients several schemes — from transportation in a truck to crossing outside official checkpoints. The final option, chosen by one of the "clients", involved delivery to the Odessa region and further illegal crossing of the border with Moldova along a pre-established route.
On August 13, on Volodymyr Velyky Street in Lviv, a smuggler was detained “red-handed” — immediately after receiving $20,000. The detention was carried out in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
He has already been notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal smuggling of persons across the state border of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for 7 to 9 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in activities for up to three years, as well as confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The court has chosen a preventive measure for the suspect - detention with the possibility of posting bail.
