In the capital, police detained a man who tried to steal from a bank terminal. The incident occurred in the evening in the Obolonskyi district of Kyiv.
According to the Kyiv National Police Headquarters, an attacker broke into a bank with terminals on Vyshgorodska Street. He used a screwdriver to break into an ATM, trying to steal over 150,000 UAH.
However, the bank security guard called the police in time. Criminal police officers and an investigative and operational group arrived at the scene. The attacker was caught right during the attempted break-in.
Law enforcement officers informed the man of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 15, Part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – attempted theft, combined with penetration into a storage facility, committed under martial law.
The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to 8 years.
The court chose to remand the suspect in custody with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of UAH 90,840.
