On Thursday, December 24, a serious incident occurred in the Rivne region involving the alert group of the territorial procurement center. According to the Operational Command "West", the group's vehicle did not stop and "fleed into the territory of one of the individual entrepreneurs.".
Later, passers-by who did not understand the legal grounds for the detention intervened. They hindered the lawful activities of the servicemen: they tugged at their uniforms, shouted obscene words, and threw sticks. One of the citizens, known as E., used a metal object – a crowbar, as a result of which one of the servicemen received serious injuries: a fractured rib and contusions of the parenchyma of both lungs. Currently, his condition is assessed as serious, and he is being provided with the necessary medical assistance.
The OK "West" called the event "direct obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, combined with violence against servicemen," noting that the cause was deliberate failure by citizens to comply with mobilization legislation.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted under Article 350, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - intentional assault or infliction of light or moderate bodily injury to an official in connection with official or public activities.
