The Telegraph reported, citing the results of a survey conducted by the American Gallup .
According to the survey, which was conducted among 1,002 Americans, Zelensky's net approval rating is +18%. For comparison, Trump's rating is negative - minus 16%. Thus, the difference between the politicians' ratings is 34 percentage points in favor of the Ukrainian leader.
The study covered Americans' attitudes towards 14 prominent political and public figures. The most popular person among respondents was Pope Leo XIV, the first American Pontiff, who was supported by 46% of respondents. Zelensky took second place in the rating.
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders came in third, followed by French President Emmanuel Macron and New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Of these, only Sanders has a positive balance of opinions.
The least popular figure on the list is Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and former adviser on government efficiency, with an approval rating of minus 18%.
Gallup explained that to compare support levels, it uses a “net favorability” indicator, which is calculated as the difference between positive and negative ratings. This method allows for taking into account the level of awareness of respondents about a particular public figure.
Interestingly, some of the list's participants, such as the President of France or US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, are known only to a fraction of Americans, so their ranking may have been less accurate due to limited knowledge about them.
