On the night of September 30, a Russian drone struck a residential building in the village of Chernechchyna, Krasnopil community, Sumy region. A family with two young children, boys aged 6 and 4, lived in the apartment. All four were killed.
The tragedy was reported by the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleg Hrygorov. He confirmed that rescuers from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine unblocked the bodies of parents and their sons born in 2018 and 2021 from under the rubble.
"This is a terrible and irreparable loss for the entire community and the region. The death of a family in Chernechchyna is a tragedy that we will never forget or forgive," said Grigorov.
The State Emergency Service also reported that the drone strike damaged one-story and two-story residential buildings.
The same night, the Kyiv region was also hit by drone attacks. In the Brovary district, a woman born in 1950 was injured - she had a hypertensive crisis and an acute stress reaction. Medics provided assistance on the spot.
According to the Kyiv OVA, there were no hits to critical infrastructure, but a private residential building, outbuildings, and a car were damaged.
