In Transcarpathia, law enforcement officers have exposed a deputy of the Khust city council, who is suspected of illegally selling electronic cigarettes. This was reported by the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, the deputy set up a trading pavilion right in his own yard. He ordered goods without excise stamps via Telegram channels, and then sold them to customers.
During the search, law enforcement officers seized over a thousand units of e-cigarette liquids, as well as a batch of devices without excise stamps.
The defendant is charged with the acquisition, storage for the purpose of sale, and sale of illegally manufactured excisable goods (Part 1, Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). A pre-trial investigation is currently underway under the procedural guidance of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office.
