In Transcarpathia, the prosecutor's office sent an indictment to the court against a 33-year-old resident of Lviv who tried to illegally cross the state border and offered a bribe to a border guard.
According to the regional prosecutor's office, the incident occurred at the "Maly Berezny - Ublya" checkpoint on the border with Slovakia. The man provided border guards with a fake Saudi Arabian passport, trying to pass himself off as a foreigner.
After the forgery was discovered and the visa was denied, the Lviv resident tried to resolve the issue with a bribe. He suggested that the employee of the State Border Service of Ukraine transfer 100 thousand hryvnias to the card.
The investigation charges him with aiding and abetting the forgery and use of a knowingly false document, as well as offering an illegal benefit to an official (Parts 3, 4 of Article 358, Part 1 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The indictment has now been submitted to the court. For these crimes, the man faces a sentence of up to 5 years in prison.
