The Ukrainian forces continue to take active fighting in the Pokrovsky direction, demonstrating successful promotion. This is stated in the new report of the American Institute for War Study (ISW).
According to geolocation videos, the Armed Forces units have succeeded in the northern part of the village of Mykolaivka, located northeast of Pokrovsk. This is the first recorded progress of Ukrainian forces in this area of the front in recent weeks.
At the same time, Russian sources are trying to promote narratives about their own success. In particular, we are talking about the alleged promotion of Russian units to the west of the new economic. However, as ISW analysts note, there is no confirmation of this statement.
The report also clarifies that in the Pokrovsky direction the occupation troops involved the soldiers of the 506th Motorized Rifle Regiment from the Typhoon detachment, as well as UAV operators from the Airnomads group.
The intensity of the fighting in this area of the front remains high. According to Oleksandr Pavlenko, a Ukrainian intelligence officer, the enemy, the enemy mostly attacks small infantry groups, trying to exhaust Ukrainian defense.
Earlier, on July 19, a spokesman for the operational-strategic group of Khortytsia Viktor Tregubov stated that the Russian side was actively accelerating the fakes about the storming of Pokrovsk and even about penetrating the territory of Dnipropetrovsk region. In fact, these statements have no reason and are part of the enemy's information campaign.
Thus, despite the difficult situation, the Ukrainian forces retain the initiative on a number of areas of the front, including in the Pokrovsk region.
