The government plans to exclude people with high salaries from mobilization
According to People's Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko, the government intends to exempt the following persons from conscription into the army:
- officials of the first category;
- employees of enterprises, institutions and organizations of the defense-industrial complex, as well as suppliers for the Armed Forces;
- police officers.
Legislation will prohibit the mobilization of employees from certain business sectors:
- employees of the fuel and energy complex;
- communication operators.
In addition, according to Honcharenko, exemption from mobilization will be granted to persons who receive an income of 35 thousand hryvnias or more, pay personal income tax in the amount of at least 6.3 thousand hryvnias and contributions to the mandatory state social insurance in the amount of no less than 7.7 thousand hryvnias. This category also includes IT specialists, in particular residents of Diya City, if they pay personal income tax in the amount of at least 6.3 thousand hryvnias.
"Such a decision was already discussed with the President's Office a month ago, but then it was rejected, especially due to criticism of the article on the minimum income of 35,000 hryvnias. This approach can be considered social Darwinism. According to this logic: officials and wealthy people should not risk their lives," the People's Deputy emphasized.
