At the same time, Ukrainian employers are increasing the salaries of their employees. The goal is to maintain staff and attract new highly qualified employees in the conditions of a shortage of labor resources in the country. In particular, the average salary for vacancies on job sites increased in July 2024 to UAH 19,553, from about UAH 17,000 at the beginning of the year.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the level of wages in 2023-2024 continues to be affected by the factors of 2022 - the consequences of active hostilities in a significant territory of Ukraine. In particular:

  • temporary loss of a significant territory;
  • destruction of infrastructure and enterprises (or their damage, which led to the cessation of activity);
  • significant permanent destruction of logistics;
  • a significant number of working-age people abroad and in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, "which creates significant structural imbalances in the labor market."

However, it is noted that Ukrainians themselves want to earn even more. Yes, the average salary they indicate in their resume is UAH 20,414.
