Managers of "Odesa Port Plant" were accused of illegally transferring land to oligarch Bogolyubov

A criminal case has been initiated against the management of one of the largest enterprises in Ukraine, Odesa Port Plant (OPZ). According to the investigation, plant officials illegally transferred state land for long-term use to oligarch Gennady Bogolyubov at an undervalued price.

On December 3, on the basis of the decision of the Kyiv District Court of the city of Odesa, a criminal case No. 12024160000001447 was initiated on the grounds of the crime provided for in Article 364 of the Criminal Code - abuse of power, which caused serious consequences. The specified norm provides for liability in the form of deprivation of liberty for a period of three to six years.

We are talking about the so-called "easement" scheme, which OPZ officials manipulated by leasing state land for their own use to Bogolyubov's company - the infamous Boryvazh. The latter built a railway line on the allotted 2.4 ha plot, without which they could not conduct multi-billion-dollar activities. At the same time, the state received from 30 to 45 thousand hryvnias of rent, which is significantly different from the market assessment.
