Klitschko declared the pressure of law enforcement officers on the city authorities of Kiev

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko stated that unprecedented pressure from law enforcement officers . According to him, the purpose of such actions is to discredit the city administration and paralysis of key services . He reported this at the beginning of the meeting of the Kyiv City Council .

“A frantic wave of pressure of law enforcement on the city government is ongoing. Recently, it has intensified. Manipulations and lies, violation of legal procedures, criminal proceedings on far -fetched grounds - all this is done to discredit the authorities of the capital and for the paralysis of the city's life support. 2024 became especially indicative. In investigative actions on representatives of the authorities of Kiev are involved without exception all law enforcement agencies of Ukraine. In particular, national, city and law enforcement officers from other areas of the country. This activity has already become repressive, ”Vitaliy Klitschko said.

He reported that last year more than 200 searches, 400 documents, more than 500 interrogations were presented in Kyiv, and almost 100 suspicions were presented. The searches are carried out not only in the workplaces of representatives of the city authorities, but also at home, in their cars and in their relatives.

"And this happens during the war, when endless searches stop the work of municipal enterprises, demoralize employees," the mayor of Kiev emphasized.

Klitschko noted that the vast majority of these cases do not even go to court.

“At the same time, all these shows are widely covered in the media, where people without court decision are already guilty. The court comes to court! So why do detective performances arrange for not to blacken and discredit?! And why are law enforcement officers so cynical? Because they were given a team and promised that they would not be responsible for law, which they violate themselves? ” - Klitschko emphasized.

The mayor emphasized that the Corruption Department, the Department of Internal Financial Audit and Control and a number of other bodies that control legality and prejudice corruption work in the capital. The city authorities also cooperate with law enforcement agencies.

“Departments provide all documents that law enforcement agencies invite. We are open to cooperation and we will not cover anyone. But everything must be done by law, not just for the sake of headings in the media! ” - said Vitaliy Klitschko.

Earlier it was reported that since 2019, more than 1000 cases have been opened against the Kiev authorities, of which only a few came to court. Others collapse because they were fabricated.
