The new head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Timur Tkachenko declared his intention to deal with the illegal building on Trukhanov island. He also reminded the mayor of Vitaliy Klitschko about his recent greeting for Lina Kostenko, who lived in his childhood just where elite estates are now being erected.
Tkachenko's reaction was caused by investigations of journalists, which exposes the next attempts to build one of the last green corners of the capital - Trukhanov Island. According to the law, this territory belongs to the lands of the water fund, where any construction is forbidden.
However, as the KMVA chairman noted, this does not prevent the businessmen from dividing and selling land that should belong to the state or the city community. " According to Tkachenko, such schemes are already well familiar, in particular with "toilet equipment" in other areas of Kiev.
"Especially cynical that the announcement of the sale of illegally selected land in the cities can be found freely on the Internet," Tkachenko said.
He also reported that he had already submitted this issue for consideration of the working group "Transparency and accountability", which deals with corruption and violations in the urban economy.
Separately, Tkachenko recalled the recent greetings of the mayor of Klitschko on the occasion of Lina Kostenko's 95th anniversary. It was in her childhood that she lived on Trukhanov island, and it was she who repeatedly opposed the destruction of nature in Kiev.
"It is interesting, and did the mayor of Ms. Linsi tell that a land deriban continues on her native Trukhanov Island - with the complete inaction of the city authorities (or thanks to her ...)?" - the head of the KMVA said sarcastically.
Journalists found that Trukhaniv island has long become a good piece of developers. Where it was a protected nature, elite cottages, fences behind the fence appear now, and some of the lands are actually lost to the public.
The material has exposed a number of questionable decisions through which the land of the island is derived from communal property, is issued through false public organizations or fictitious projects.
