In Kharkiv, an investigation into the incident in one of the territorial centers of completing and social support (TCC) is underway, where a 49-year-old man, he said, was beaten by persons in military uniform. The event has caused public resonance and has already become the subject of both criminal and official investigation.
The incident happened on May 9. According to the National Police of Kharkiv Oblast, a citizen appealed to law enforcement officers stating that his brother was illegally detained in the premises of the shopping center, where he was injured during a verbal conflict.
The victim was hospitalized, after which he went to the police with a statement. According to him, violence against him was used by persons in the form of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Investigators initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 122 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - deliberate moderate injury. This article provides punishment in the form of correctional labor for up to two years, restriction of liberty up to three years or imprisonment for the same term.
In the Kharkiv Regional Shopping Center and JV, the incident was confirmed, noting that the victim was a former military. The center stressed that they condemn the actions of a serviceman who exceeded his authority by resorting to physical force during the conflict.
"On this fact, an official investigation is appointed, which will take appropriate measures, and the perpetrators will be brought to fair responsibility," - said in the official statement of the Tax Code.
Investigators are currently establishing all the circumstances of the event. The public expects the objective investigation and responsibility of the perpetrators, regardless of their status or position.
