The companies that made bail for Pashynskyi accumulated a debt to the Ministry of Defense in the amount of UAH 364 million

The deposit made by the companies for Serhiy Pashynskyi itself became the subject of a debt to the Ministry of Defense in the amount of 364 million hryvnias. However, these companies found free funds and paid 272 million hryvnias in bail for the ex-Deputy, who is accused of stealing 97,000 tons of fuel for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the amount of almost 1 billion hryvnias.

According to information received from sources in law enforcement agencies, the company actually owes the Ministry of Defense 364 million hryvnias. The ministry filed lawsuits against them, which are currently pending in court. For example, "Ukrainian armored vehicles" LLC appears in six lawsuits of the ministry for the amount of more than 123 million hryvnias, and "Thermal Vision Technologies" LLC - in one lawsuit for 240 million hryvnias. In total - 364 million hryvnias. These companies, which posted a bond for Pashynskyi, belong to the National Association of Defense Industry Enterprises of Ukraine, headed by Pashynskyi.

According to sources, the amount of claims of the Ministry of Defense against companies related to Pashynskyi may be significantly higher if we take into account the cases containing state secrets.

The expert notes that the contracts with these suppliers of the Ministry of Defense were signed after 100% advance payment, but, according to the lawsuits, they were not fulfilled. Now the state is trying to recover the funds through the court.

Also, the head of the State Audit Service, Alla Basalayeva, reported that the counterparties of the Ministry of Defense, with whom contracts for the supply of weapons were concluded, owed the state almost 5 billion hryvnias.

The expert writes that given the lack of funds for the army, it would be more reasonable to direct this money to the needs of the Armed Forces, and not to pay a large bail for a person accused of stealing fuel worth a billion hryvnias. This, according to the expert, violates the defense capability of the country in favor of political interests and business schemes of a particular person.

It will be recalled that on February 26, the Higher Anti-Corruption Court arrested Pashinsky, who is suspected of conspiring with other persons to steal the so-called "Kurchenko oil products". He was taken into custody with an alternative bail of 272.52 million hryvnias, but members of the National Association of Defense Industry Enterprises later posted full bail for him. According to the media, Ukrainian Armored Vehicles LLC paid 62.5 million hryvnias, and Thermal Vision Technologies LLC paid 40 million hryvnias.

The mass media also distributed recordings of the ex-Deputy's conversations with his closest entourage, from which it follows that he actually purchased weapons for the army at double the inflated price.
