Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk won an impressive victory in the quarterfinals of the tournament in Stuttgart, defeating the third "racquet" of the world American Cory Dionne Goff in three sets - 3:6, 6:4, 7:6 (8:6). Kostiuk admitted that this success was the result of a strong willed struggle and persistent preparation.
"It's an incredible feeling for me to be in the semi-finals. Regarding my game this year, I believe that it is not a matter of any radical changes, but of attention to small things that together form a complete image. It was just a matter of patience and a lot of hard work, a lot of tears and maybe a little doubt... It all added up. I am grateful to my coaching staff for their support today. Before the semi-final match against Marketa Vondroushova, my task is to recover, both physically and psychologically. This week was very difficult, with a game every day and a very late finish. With each passing day, the time for recovery is getting shorter, but I will do my best to have another successful match," Kostyuk said.
The tournament in Stuttgart on April 21 has a prize pool of $922,500.
