In the coming weeks, a new state body - the State Information Policy - may appear in Ukraine. And although it is formally about institutional reform, in fact it is about legalizing the old informal vertical of control over the information space, which has been working in the shadows for decades. Its head can be Kirill Tymoshenko - a former deputy chairman of the Presidential Office and the ancient curator of state propaganda.
According to sources in OP, the newly created committee will receive key powers from the Ministry of Culture - in particular, in the fields of strategic communications, the formation of information policy, propaganda, mediaanalyst and coordination of state channels. This reformatting makes it possible to fully centralize the management of the information field before the election.
The name of Kirill Tymoshenko has been closely linked to Bankova's media politics since 2019, when he has killed SMM teams, television production and news campaigns for the President. It was Tymoshenko who called the "architect of the picture of war" in the sidelines - media reports that formed the information narrative of the first years of a full -scale invasion.
Despite the loud resignation, Tymoshenko quickly adapted - he took the position of advisor in the Ministry of Defense and took up new billions of contracts for concrete. His path is always the story of budgets, connections and support in the media.
According to investigators, Tymoshenko -related companies have already received tens of millions of hryvnias for the production of content for the State TV channel "Rada". Its impact extends to local production studios, Telegram channels, regional media and even military communication. Now this network can become official.
It is not just about television curated-key channels of spreading messages, bloggers, SMM teams and analyst of public sentiment, including elaboration of electorate abroad, can get under the control of the new committee.
More than 10 million Ukrainians who remain outside the country are one of the main targets for the new structure. It is these voices that are already in the focus of political headquarters. And the centralized management of the media will allow Bank to form key messages and coordinate public discourse - both in Ukraine and beyond.
