A petition appeared in the capital demanding to eliminate the Kyivzelenbud utility through a number of scandals that harm the ecology and violate the interests of Kyivans. The appeal was published on the website of the Kyiv City Council, and it was already supported by hundreds of residents.
Petition authors accuse Kyivzelenbud of systematic destruction of healthy trees under the guise of green space care. Particular indignation was caused by the cutting of adult trees on O. Konyssky Street, next to the architectural monument - the estate of Zelensky. The official reason is the accident of trees, but the locals believe that it is a harbinger of building this territory.
This year, Kyivzelenbud was in the center of a number of corruption scandals. One of the officials of the enterprise is suspected of signing the fictitious acts of the completed works, in particular the repair of the square on the Chekhov lane, which was officially considered complete, although the work was not actually done on time.
Law enforcement officers revealed the theft of more than 5.3 million hryvnias from the city budget, when the heads of the enterprise in conspiracy with contractors artificially overstated the cost of works and materials. Also, one of the entrepreneurs reported suspicion of bribery in the amount of UAH 62 thousand for the "guarantee" of signing acts and continuing cooperation with communalrs.
The petition contains five key requirements: liquidation of KP "Kyivzelenbud", conducting an independent audit of activity of the enterprise over the last five years, termination of felling of trees on Konissky Street, ensuring public control over landscaping work and banning the practice of so -called "rejuvenation" of trees, which actually leads to their damage.
It should be reminded that in 2024, former heads of Kyivzelenbud were already appeared in the case of falsification of reports in the amount of more than UAH 1.3 million, which caused public resonance and increased distrust of the enterprise.
