By the end of 2025, the large -scale modernization of the regional alert system is planned to be completed in the Kiev region. The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Mykola Kalashnik reported on the results of a working meeting with representatives of the SES, the concern of radio broadcasting, communication and television, as well as experts in the field of security.
The purpose of the project is to create a modern automated system that will operate in every community of the region. The key feature of the new model is the possibility of local launch of sirens. This means that the alert will only be heard where there is a real threat, not throughout the region.
According to Kalashnik, the system will be equipped with three independent signal transmission channels and will be able to work up to seven days autonomously - without electricity and communication. Batteries and high resistance to external intervention are also provided. Thanks to this, even in critical conditions, the community will be able to act independently.
The modernization will fully update the technical infrastructure: new equipment, digital communication channels, reserve power sources and protected data will be installed. If there is an emergency shutdown, the system will automatically switch to backup power and continue operation without the need for human intervention.
The modernization of the system is part of the national initiative to increase the efficiency of notification of the population about danger in the face of a military threat.
