Two officials of utility companies of Dniprovsky district, who are suspected of systematic demanding of bribes for the performance of works, which were to be financed from the community budget, were exposed in Kiev. The suspicion of officials was informed by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, the actions of both qualified under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - obtaining an undue benefit by an official.
As it turned out, the Chief Engineer of KP "The Road and Operational Directorate of the Dniprovsky District" demanded UAH 340 thousand from the entrepreneur, who officially concluded an agreement with the KP for rubbing of the road to his institution in the garden society. Despite the presence of the contract, the official actually "set the price" for accelerating the work.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of the District Department for Public Services (UZN) demanded another 52 thousand hryvnias in the pocket for landscaping the territory of a private house. Although only 10 thousand were worth the work of the work and the resources of the municipal enterprise, the official insisted on additional payment for himself.
On May 25, both malefactors were detained "on hot" while receiving bribes. During the searches, the persons seized cash and documents confirming the illegal activity. The detention was carried out in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The investigation is ongoing. If the court proves the trial, they are threatened with up to 10 years of imprisonment, as well as a ban on holding public office for up to three years with confiscation of property.
