The Lviv Customs officer was detained during a bribe of $ 23,000. The head of one of the customs posts guaranteed unimpeded registration of international shipments without accrual of customs payments.
Scheme: 5-7% “rollback” for each product
According to the investigation, the corruption scheme provided 5-7% of the commission from the value of the goods. The amount of undue benefit depended on the type of cargo.
The official was detained after receiving the second part of a bribe of $ 20,000.
What threatens the customs officer?
He was informed of suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - receiving a bribe by an official in a particularly large size.
According to the court decision, the detainee was removed from office, and the investigation is ongoing.
The exposure operation was performed by the National Police, the SBU and the Prosecutor's Office with the support of the Lviv Customs Management.
