Less than 100,000 unemployed in Ukraine: data from the employment service at the beginning of 2024

At the beginning of January this year, the number of unemployed people in Ukraine decreased to 96,100, which is half as much as compared to the same period last year. This information was made public by the State Employment Service of Ukraine, indicating that on January 1, 2024, 96,120 people had the status of unemployed, compared to 186,508 people on the same date in 2023.

It is noted that among the total number of registered unemployed, 74.9% are women, or 72,031 people, while 25.1%, or 24,089 men, were unemployed.

Last year, 483,200 Ukrainians had the status of unemployed. The employment service managed to employ 160,100 unemployed people, and in total, they helped 240,400 people find work for the year. In addition, 18,052 people received study vouchers, and 323,600 citizens received unemployment benefits in 2023.
