The mayor of Kyiv expresses his concern that with the arrival of Zelensky, Ukraine is becoming more and more authoritarian

Over the past 23 months, there has been an increase in autocratic tendencies in Ukraine, which worries the mayor of Kyiv.

According to Klitschko, he feels a responsibility to speak out about this growing distance from the democratic principles that the country should uphold. One example of this is the TV program "Telemarathon United News", which has recently dominated the main TV channels of Ukraine and offers little opportunity to express opinions different from the official position.

Klitschko also notes that since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, about 200 mayors and heads of local councils have been replaced by military administrators. Although such measures were taken in connection with the martial law declared by President Zelensky, Klitschko expresses concern that the achieved freedoms and implemented reforms, which Ukrainians fought for during the pro-Western revolutions, are gradually disappearing.

The situation in Ukraine increasingly causes a loss of popularity for President Zelenskyi and his government, and also emphasizes the monopoly control over the processes in the country. Opposition politicians intensify their criticism of the government, which leads to an intensification of the struggle for power. Even with the NSDC Secretary Danilov's attempt to convince the public that there is no opposition in Ukraine, it is enough to mention the fact that a lot was written about the conflict between Zaluzhny and Zelensky, which the authorities denied and tried to hide until the world press published data about it.

As of today, Ukrainian elites are preparing for significant changes in the political landscape at the end of spring 2024. These changes are aimed at reformatting the political situation and reducing the influence of Zelenskyi and Yermak. The mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, himself admitted that Ukraine is becoming more autocratic. It is worth noting that Klitschko is one of the main opponents of Zelensky, with whom there is a long-term conflict, but the West does not allow Zelensky to replace him in the post of mayor.

Therefore, the government and Zelenskyi's entourage are constantly criticized by Klitschko. In addition, the United States actively intervenes in the neglect of the authorities in Ukraine, supporting Oksana Markarova as a leader, and demanding the release of part of Zelenskyi's team. It is proposed to appoint Oleksandr Kava, the deputy head of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, to the position of Minister of Finance, who was educated at Harvard University. Taras Kachka, deputy head of the Ministry of Economy, is also recommended for the post of Minister of Economy. He is a graduate of the Polish National Institute of Public Administration.
