The Ukrainian Prime Minister held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Yoko Kamikawa, during which they discussed a wide range of issues of cooperation between the two countries.
Among the main topics of the conversation were support for the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine, implementation of reforms, cooperation in the infrastructure sector, digital and nuclear industries, as well as preparation for the Recovery Conference in Tokyo. The Prime Minister also expressed Ukraine's interest in possible location of production of leading Japanese companies on its territory.
"Our goal is to strengthen trade ties and develop cooperation between Ukrainian and Japanese business structures," the Prime Minister emphasized in his statement.
He also expressed hope that practical results will be achieved at the upcoming Recovery Conference in Tokyo. In turn, Yoko Kamikawa confirmed the readiness of the Japanese side to sign important documents and participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
The issue of involvement of Japanese companies in the reconstruction of Ukraine was also discussed. The Prime Minister thanked Japan for its support and important humanitarian and financial assistance. He noted Japan's decision to allocate 1 billion dollars for humanitarian projects, with the possibility of increasing this amount to 4.5 billion through international institutions.
Separately, words of gratitude were expressed for Japan's efforts in ensuring the participation of the President of Ukraine in the G7 summit in Hiroshima.
