Information about the progress of Ukraine's cooperation with NATO appeared on the official website of the Ministry of Defense. Deputy Minister of Defense, Stanislav Heyder, in his interview for Kyiv Post, shared details about achievements in this direction.
Heyder noted that he is actively working on the implementation of the concept of the Road Map of Interoperability with NATO and the adapted Ukraine-NATO Annual National Program. He is also actively involved in the implementation of joint projects aimed at meeting NATO standards.
According to Heyder, 322 NATO standards have already been successfully implemented, and another 50 are at the implementation stage. He also noted the importance of launching the first joint institution with NATO - NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Center (JATEC).
Quoting the Deputy Minister of Defense, I would like to note that the Armed Forces must meet all NATO criteria, and for this it is necessary to make changes in order to achieve mutual compliance.
According to his statement, the center should contribute to the joint analysis of security challenges and the improvement of the training and military education system. Within the framework of the center, Ukrainian specialists will work together with colleagues from NATO member countries on joint development of capabilities.
Heider also emphasized that Ukraine will be not only a recipient, but also a provider of valuable experience: "Our contribution to the center's activities is based mainly on the ten-year experience of the Russian-Ukrainian war, innovations and practices that we developed during the full-scale invasion of Russia. This experience is already changing NATO standards and shaping the ability to respond to challenges and threats in the field of defense."
