In January-March 2025, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine purchased 36 apartments to provide housing for servicemen. The total cost of purchases was about UAH 104 million. This is more than in the same period last year, when 33 apartments were purchased.
Housing was purchased in the secondary market according to the results of the open competition. The average area of each apartment exceeds 52 square meters.
“This is another step towards creating decent conditions for residence of military and their families. The Ministry of Defense will continue to introduce effective mechanisms for providing our defenders with quality and comfortable housing, ”said Deputy Minister of Defense, Brigade General of Justice Sergey Melnyk.
After the official transfer of objects to the balance of the Kiev apartment and operational management, the process of distribution of premises in accordance with the current legislation will begin.
Particular attention is paid to the Ministry of Defense to a systematic solution to the housing issue for servicemen. The Main Department of Capital Investments has already developed a draft concept of the State Targeted Program for the Housing of Military and Persons Fired from Military Service. The document is intended to introduce long -term mechanisms to reduce queues and to ensure housing stability.
The algorithm for exclusion of official housing from the respective funds of the Ministry of Defense was also approved. This will allow many families who currently live in business housing, to receive the right to use it.
In addition, the technical task is being prepared for digitalization of housing accounting processes. The Defense Ministry notes that this will ensure transparency, control and effective management of the housing stock.
