Moldova took the initiative to ensure the supply of electricity to Ukraine within the framework of the project, which involves the transition from natural gas consumption to electricity production. This initiative has become particularly relevant in the context of geopolitical tensions and strategic calculations in the energy market
This is stated in the joint statement of the foreign ministers of Ukraine, Moldova and Romania following the meeting in Chisinau, reports "DS" with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
"The Republic of Moldova has expressed its readiness to ensure the supply of electricity to Ukraine within the framework of the gas-to-electricity project by placing generation facilities on its territory, using natural gas supplied by Ukraine for this exchange," the message states.
They note that for this the parties "will look for solutions to make the gas infrastructure commercially reliable."
Also, the heads of foreign affairs of the three countries - Dmytro Kuleba, Mihai Popshoi and Luminica Odobescu - agreed to cooperate to attract international funds and help to implement projects to strengthen energy security.
