A wave of mass deductions from higher education institutions is expected in Ukraine. This will be especially true of conscript students who have come to universities for an unscrupulous purpose-to avoid mobilization. Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mykhailo Vinnytsky announced this in an interview with ZN.ua.
According to him, after the spring session, which will end in May-June, universities will be "fairly mass deductions", it is first and foremost about those who are formally listed in universities, but do not actually study.
“Currently, more than a hundred educational institutions are being checked for enrollment in men 25+ years. It is about eye training, which should be confirmed by the physical presence in pairs, ”Vinnytsky said.
He stressed that education should be a conscious choice, not a tool for delay. At the same time, the Deputy Minister acknowledged that among students there are those men aged 25+, who really have returned to study consciously and show good results.
In parallel, a large-scale check of more than 100 universities and colleges continues-the State Education Quality Service, together with military enlistment offices and law enforcement agencies, studies compliance with the legislation on entry and training of male students.
Check:
-
the authenticity of data in EDEBO;
-
availability of students in classes;
-
The license volume of admission is not exceeded.
According to Vinnytsky, 23 448 men aged over 30 were deducted from April to August 2024.
The real record was made by postgraduate studies: if 3-4 thousand people entered the postgraduate study by 2022, then 18 thousand at once in 2023, of which more than 90% were men of conscript age. After the checks, about 3,000 graduate students were deducted.
The Ministry of Education and Science is assured that the fight against fictitious learning will continue this year. The introductory campaign in 2025 will be particularly attention to the motivation of entrants and increased enrollment requirements.
