During almost nine months of operation of the Ukrainian Maritime Corridor, about 1,600 ships passed through it. These ships transported 45 million tons of cargo from the ports of Great Odesa, mainly agricultural products from Ukrainian farmers destined for global food markets.
More than 30 million tons of Ukrainian agricultural products were delivered to 38 countries of the world. At the same time, there are another 108 ships waiting to be loaded with more than 3 million tons of products for further export near the Ukrainian ports.
Importantly! The international maritime organization also discussed measures to strengthen security within the framework of the temporary Ukrainian maritime corridor with Ukrainian partners.
Grain exports decreased slightly compared to last year. Since the beginning of the marketing year 2023-2024, Ukraine exported 41.989 million tons of grain, which is 0.643 million tons less than a year ago, which is a decrease of 1.5%.
Note! Nevertheless, the export of wheat flour and flour from other cereals decreased by 33%, amounting to 87.6 thousand tons, which is 43.2 thousand tons less than a year earlier.
Despite this, Ukraine managed to return to pre-war grain export indicators, in particular:
- Wheat - 16.002 million tons;
- Barley – 2.214 million tons;
- Rye - 1.3 thousand tons;
- Corn - 23.292 million tons.
