The Ministry of Health has begun an investigation in connection with suspected extortion at Vinnitsa Cardio Center

The Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) has initiated an investigation into the possible demand for funds in patients of the Vinnytsia Cardiocenter. The reason for this was the patient's notification of the requirement to pay for medicines and medical services, which should be provided free of charge under the medical guarantee program.

According to the Ministry of Health, the information about the incident has spread in local pages, and law enforcement officers have already been involved in investigation. Patient relatives reported that in addition to the operation for the operation, they were given a list of medicines that had to be purchased at their own cost.

The Ministry stressed that medical institutions that have signed contracts with the National Health Service of Ukraine are obliged to provide all additional medicines and services free of charge. The demanding of additional payments is illegal.

In case of confirmation of these facts, the Ministry of Health we demand from the Vinnytsia City Council to take personnel measures to lead the cardio center. The case file will be transferred to law enforcement officers for further action.
