In the Khmelnytsky region, the recidivist received seven years in prison for theft of a bicycle. According to the regional prosecutor's office, the crime was repeated, and this is the seventh condemnation of the man.
The incident occurred in March 2025 near one of the shops in the Khmelnytsky community. The local resident left his bicycle near the trading facility, and when he came out - he saw the unknown trying to escape on his two -wheeled transport. The man did not react and disappeared for calling.
Law enforcement officers quickly identified the abductor and detained him in Khmelnitsky. During the investigation, it turned out that the cost of the bicycle exceeds 20 thousand hryvnias. The property was returned to the owner.
The attacker already had six criminal convictions and spent more than seven years behind bars. The court, taking into account the recurrence and the repetition of the crime, imposed a punishment in the form of seven years of imprisonment. Prior to the entry into force of the sentence, it will be in custody.
This case shows again: even a seemingly insignificant crime can turn a real term when it comes to a person with a criminal past.
