In Ivano-Frankivsk, a police officer who sold state secrets were detained

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation together with the Security Service of Ukraine and internal security of the State Border Service exposed and detained the deputy chief of one of the departments of the law enforcement agency of Ivano-Frankivsk region. The official has established a selling channel of confidential information from state databases.

According to the investigation, the law enforcement officer systematically conveyed for money data that constitutes state secret or is official information. In particular, at the request of clients, he checked the persons for wanted, imposed restrictions on traveling abroad and finding out other closed information. To do this, the attacker used his personal access to official registers.

Only in February 2025 did the person illegally transmit information on at least 43 people. For this he received about $ 2,000.

The law enforcement officer has already been informed of the suspicion of committing the crime provided for in Article 368, Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - demanding and receiving undue benefit by an official. The sanction of this article provides for imprisonment for up to 10 years with confiscation of property.

Currently, a petition is being prepared for a pre -trial detention. Investigators will also insist on removing the suspect from office at the time of the investigation.
