Employees of the National Police of Ukraine exposed a former official of the State Treasury in illegal enrichment in the amount of more than $61 million. This was reported by the press service of the National Police. Assets identified, which the official could not substantiate, include real estate, premium cars and cash in various bank accounts.
We are talking about tens of millions of dollars in cash and precious metals in ingots worth more than 38 million hryvnias. While in office, he allegedly received these funds as an inheritance from his parents: in April 2023, his mother received 3.5 million hryvnias worth of bullion and almost $6 million in cash; in April, his father received more than $56 million and bullion worth in 34.5 million hryvnias.
The law enforcement officers found out that a relative from Russia, a lieutenant general of the Russian Armed Forces, helped the ex-head of the department withdraw money that he received from corruption schemes and "invested" it in projects in Russia and in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
