In the Ternopil region, criminal proceedings were opened against the Official of the Zboriv City Council, who is suspected of fraud on war veterans and combatants. This was reported in the press service of the regional police.
According to preliminary data of the investigation, the official used the regional program "Care", which provides financial support for the defenders, and offered assistance to several veterans. However, in the process of payments, he demanded some of the allocated funds to return him in cash.
At least three cases of appropriation of funds are now known. The amounts that the official received were from 17 to 38 thousand hryvnias. This money was intended for the treatment and rehabilitation of servicemen, however, instead, they were in the pocket of the official.
Investigators qualified the actions of the person personally under Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - fraud. There is a pre -trial investigation, the purpose of which is to establish all the circumstances and the number of victims.
