The amount of funds collected for the restoration of the National Children's Specialized Hospital "Okhmatdyt" exceeded UAH 1.6 billion, the Ministry of Health reported. From this amount, about UAH 400 million will be used for the purchase of new equipment.
According to the Ministry of Health, UAH 312 million went directly to the hospital's account, UAH 379 million were transferred to the account of the "Okhmatdit - Healthy Childhood" charity fund, and more than UAH 320 million were collected through the United24 and monobank platforms, which transferred these funds to the Ministry of Health's account in National Bank. Additionally, $11.2 million was provided by The Howard G. Buffett Foundation for the purchase of the necessary equipment, $1 million was allocated by Lithuania, and the government of Ukraine transferred UAH 100 million.
The Ministry of Health clarifies that the scandalous tender, which became the subject of public discussion, was organized by the "Okhmatdit - Healthy Childhood" fund. This tender was for ongoing repairs based on a defective act prepared by the foundation. The agency notes that the results of the tender were canceled and no contract was signed. Funds raised through the fund will be independently audited.
Funds received by the hospital through United24, The Howard G. Buffett Foundation and the governments of Lithuania and Ukraine were not included in the tender. The Ministry of Health plans to conduct a new tender through Prozorro for the restoration of the damaged building of "Okhmatdyt" and to create a council that will determine the requirements for contractors.
The Ministry of Health also announces a new tender for hospital reconstruction. The tender will be organized by the state enterprise "Medical Procurement of Ukraine", and all collected funds will be concentrated in the treasury account and will receive the status of state funds. It is expected that the process from the announcement of the competition to the determination of the winner will last no more than 21 days.
