In Volyn, the State Bureau of Investigation, together with the SBU, exposed three officials of one of the forestry who planned illegal felling of healthy trees for millions of hryvnias. Due to the surgical intervention of law enforcement officers, the attackers did not have time to implement their plan.
Among the suspects is the forester and two engineers. According to the investigation, they submitted to the authorized body forged documents for obtaining logging tickets. The documents stated that 325 pines were allegedly sick or damaged, although in fact the trees were quite healthy.
On the basis of these counterfeit information, officials were officially permitted to cut down the forest. Pre -estimated damage that could have been caused by the environment is over UAH 6.5 million. But it was not possible to implement the illegal scheme - the next day after the tickets were issued, the employees of the DBR and the SBU stopped the actions of officials.
Their actions are qualified under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

The suspect faces up to 7 years in prison.
