The National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has made an official statement about the dismissal of the first deputy head of the department. Although the name of the suspended official is not mentioned, there are reasons to believe that it is about Gizo Uglava, who holds this position.
It is reported that he was suspended "according to the relevant statement about a possible conflict of interest to ensure an objective pre-trial investigation, which was started due to the fact of a possible information leak."
In short, the essence of what is happening is the conflict between the current NABU leadership and a group of activists, in particular, Shabunin, associated with former NABU heads Sytnyk and Kaluzhynsky, as well as with Western embassies. By the way, the Anti-Corruption Center headed by Shabunin reacted negatively to the news of Uglava's removal and demands his release.
