On Thursday, July 3, detectives of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau conducted searches by former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Alexei Reznikov. This was reported by ZN.UA with reference to sources in law enforcement agencies.
According to preliminary data, searches took place in the framework of the investigation of the purchase of food products for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at inflated prices. Although earlier, in April, NABU noted that Reznikov was not involved in this proceeding, the search indicates a change in the status of an ex -prostate in the case or at least the approach of the investigation to him.
According to the source of the publication, the visit of NABU Reznikov was not warned. In investigative actions, a number of important documents were seized, as well as a untouched mobile phone, which was probably not listed in declarations or official communication channels.
As of the evening of July 3, neither in NABU nor in the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor's Office the situation is not officially commented.
We will remind, Alexei Reznikov headed the Ministry of Defense on November 4, 2021, and on September 4, 2023 he resigned. It was supported by the Verkhovna Rada the next day.
Before the resignation of the minister, a wave of public scandals related to public procurement for the Armed Forces was beaten. Particularly loud was the episode with the purchase of food for the military at inflated prices - in particular it was about "eggs at 17 UAH apiece".
In January 2023, Reznikov was forced to explain the situation before the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti -Corruption Policy. Then the minister acknowledged that the tender documents have "mistakes" - not only in prices, but also in nomenclature. His deputy Vyacheslav Shapovalov went through the scandal.
Although Reznikov has repeatedly emphasized that he was "not holding on to a position", his name was still avoided in official reports of law enforcement. The searches can indicate a new phase of investigation, which directly affects the highest procurement officials.
It is not yet known whether a rusty suspicion will be expected.
