The investigation initiated in May 2024 continues under the article on illegal enrichment (368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Investigative actions are currently underway, a number of examinations have been assigned, but no suspicion has been announced.
During the search, only the equipment was removed in the case: phones and a USB. At the same time, elite housing in the cottage town "Konik" in Kiev, which journalists were associated with Verbitsky, is not featured in court rulings. The media previously reported that the cottage, recorded on the civilian wife of Verbitsky Christina Ilnitsk, was rewritten to another person after the investigation began.
The study of the investigation is now focused on the purchase of an apartment and land in Turkey for more than $ 100,000. The real estate was issued for the former wife of Verbitsky in 2022.
The protection of the extent states that the funds for the purchase of Turkish real estate allegedly provided the mother -in -law of Verbitsky, who conducted business and had a savings of a man who worked as a captain of foreign vessels. The Verbitsky declaration contains only part of these funds as a gift.
