The National Bank of Ukraine announced the introduction into circulation of a new set of commemorative coins dedicated to the Volodymyr Cathedral in Kyiv. This was reported by the press service of the NBU.
The new set consists of two coins with a denomination of 10 hryvnias each and is made of 925 silver. The total circulation is 2,500 pieces.
The obverse of the coins features the inscription "UKRAINE" at the top, the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine, the denomination of the coin is 10 hryvnias, the graphic sign of the hryvnia ₴ and the year of minting 2023. In the center are fragments of the central gates of the cathedral, which depict Princess Olga and Prince Volodymyr. To the left and right of them are images of seraphim that decorate the central dome of the cathedral.
The reverse of the coins shows the central image of the Volodymyr Cathedral with the image of the Mother of God with the baby above the iconostasis (laser matting). On both sides are placed fragments of the painting of the columns and arches of the cathedral. The inscriptions "VOLODYMYRSKY / CATHEDRAL / 1862–1882" are indicated at the bottom of the coin.
