The National Anti -Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor's Office declared the threat of UAH 1.6 billion losses due to the unclear inaction of the Naftogaz NJSC. According to them, there is a real opportunity for the first time in the history of Ukraine to return these funds from abroad, but the process is inhibited through the position of the temporary head of the company.
This amount could significantly increase the country's defense capability, for example, it could be purchased for more than 100,000 FPV-pings that are critically needed at the front. However, instead of facilitating the return of funds, the management of Naftogaz demonstrates the lack of decisive action.
Anti -corruption organs emphasize that delay or absence of reaction can become fatal for this process. NABU and SAP, which are engaged in the return of assets to Ukraine and liquidation of corruption schemes, remind that the protection of state interests is the responsibility of all state institutions. Therefore, they urge the management of Naftogaz to act decisively to prevent the loss of funds.
At the same time, there are many questions in the situation. Why is Naftogaz not taking the necessary steps? Is political or corporate interest in this case? And most importantly - will Ukraine be returned this money, will they disappear in an unknown direction? The answers to these questions seem to have to look for in the near future.
