On the night of Saturday, July 20, the Russian invaders attacked the railway infrastructure in the Kharkiv region. As a result of this attack, the contact network at the exit from Kharkiv was damaged, as well as buildings and rolling stock. It is important that during the attack, four railway workers were slightly injured.
According to the information of "Ukrzaliznytsia", which was published in their Telegram channel, the damage to the contact network led to temporary delays in the movement of trains. Kyiv-Kharkiv trains No. 63 and No. 719 were forced to wait for the elimination of the consequences of the attack in order to continue their journey. However, train traffic was resumed at night, and they continued their course to Kyiv.
Delays also affected the Intercity train heading to Kramatorsk. It is important to note that the reaction of "Ukrzaliznytsia" to this situation was prompt, and it was possible to quickly restore the movement of trains, minimizing inconvenience for passengers.
In addition to the attack on the railway, in the morning of July 20 it became known about drone attacks on energy facilities in Chernihiv, Sumy and Poltava regions. According to Ukrenergo, facilities of the electricity transmission system operator were under attack. As a result of these attacks, electricity supply to domestic and industrial consumers was temporarily stopped in some areas of Chernihiv and Poltava regions.
