NACP revealed violations in the declaration of former Justice Ministry official Legostayev amounting to over 2 million hryvnias

Signs of unreliable declaration were found in the declaration of the former head of the South-Eastern Interregional Department of the Ministry of Justice (Dnipro) Ivan Legostayev. This is stated in the NACP inspection report, which was published by the editorial office of 368.media.

In particular, Legostaev indicated the cost of the Ford Escape (2018) car, owned by his wife, at UAH 486,000, while according to the Unified State Register of Vehicles, it is only UAH 115,000. The explanation regarding the inclusion of import costs (delivery, customs) was rejected.

An even more serious violation was recognized as unconfirmed income from the sale of cryptocurrency in the amount of UAH 2.5 million through the illegal exchanger "Menora" (Dnipro) in early 2021. Legostaev stated that the cryptocurrency was stored in "cold wallets", but did not provide any supporting documents.

As a result, the declaration showed an unjustified increase in cash by UAH 2.12 million - from UAH 7.79 million in 2020 to UAH 9.91 million in 2021.

In addition, the NACP recorded a significant discrepancy in the cost of the Lexus ES 350 (2012): UAH 40,000 was declared instead of the minimum UAH 433,000 at market prices.

The total amount of false information amounted to over UAH 2.56 million. This exceeds the threshold for criminal liability and may indicate an offense under Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
