The National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP) has exposed former Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council deputy Volodymyr Khoryshko for falsely declaring assets worth over 35 million hryvnias. The politician hid companies, bank accounts, real estate, and even his own children.
Khorishko Jr., the son of Hero of Ukraine and founder of the agricultural giant "Agro-Soyuz" Volodymyr Khorishko, forgot to indicate many important things in his declaration: shares in LLC "Editorial Office of the newspaper "Svidok Podyy"", "Smereka-Agro", "Agropromenenergo" and "Phoenix 771", where he appears as a founder. He also "failed to notice" two minor children, although he was legally obliged to indicate them in the document.
The biggest scandal is the silence about a luxurious house in Dnipro with an area of over 1,300 sq m, the cost of which is estimated at 35 to 61 million hryvnias, as well as about land plots. The deputy also did not mention in the declaration about bank accounts that the NACP found in three banks.
On January 25, 2025, Volodymyr Khoryshko was officially stripped of his parliamentary mandate. He was a member of the banned pro-Russian party OPZH. Before the full-scale Russian invasion, he shared photos of the Russian tricolor and statements about “fraternal peoples” on his social media pages.
This is not the only dark episode in Khoryshko's biography. On November 6, 2023, he became a defendant in a fatal road accident: he ran over a person lying on the road and did not stop. The victim died. According to criminal proceedings No. 12023040000001176, Khoryshko pleaded guilty and made a plea deal with the investigation. The family of the deceased agreed to compensation, and the Synelnyky City District Court found the deputy guilty, but sentenced him to 4 years in prison with a probationary period of 1 year. The sentence came into effect on July 25, 2024.
