The National Agency for Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) withdrew from open access to the annual declarations of the head of the Kirovograd Regional Prosecutor's Office, Yana Streluk. This was reported by the detective agency ABSSION.
As it is noted, in November 2023, Strelyuk himself filed a request to the NAPC, and after its consideration, all documents that contained information about the property, income and expenses of the official were withdrawn from public bases. As of today, no declaration of Yana Strelyuk is publicly available.
This decision is an exception among the heads of regional prosecutors - it now applies to only two persons: prosecutors in Kirovograd and Kherson regions.
According to the law, the removal of declarations is possible in the case of involvement of the official in the operational-search, counterintelligence or intelligence activities. However, in practice, this mechanism is often used as a formal reason for concealment of wealth, especially in war conditions.
Upon completion of the martial law or in the case of the official's dismissal, his declarations must be renewed for 90 days.
Jan Streluk is a figure with a contradictory reputation. His name has been repeatedly mentioned in scandalous investigations, in particular about abuse of the prosecutor's office since the Revolution of Dignity. Nevertheless, he continues to hold high positions in the prosecutor's office.
