The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NKREKP) has adopted a draft resolution that provides for a 25.8% increase in the tariff for electricity transmission for businesses to UAH 665.26/MW*h. The decision was made at a meeting of the commission on November 13. The new tariff will not affect ordinary consumers - the increase applies only to businesses.
Solution details
For "green metallurgy", the NCRECP offers a separate tariff at the level of UAH 352.73/MWh , and for dispatching - UAH 95.07/MWh . The Commission explains this decision by a number of factors, including:
- decrease in production and transmission of electricity;
- increase in compensation for technological losses;
- salary increase at "Ukrenergo";
- loan servicing costs and special duties for settlements with producers of renewable energy (RES).
Inflationary processes and exchange rate growth are also taken into account.
Further steps
The approval of the draft resolution means that the stage of public discussion will now begin. The final approval of the document will take place later.
The tariff for the public remains unchanged
The electricity tariff for household consumers will remain at the level of UAH 4.32 per 1 kWh until at least May 1, 2025. This was confirmed by Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko in response to a request from People's Deputy Oleksiy Kucherenko, noting that the price for the population is fixed by Resolution No. 632 until the end of April 2025.
Thus, ordinary Ukrainians can be sure that the electricity tariff for them will not change in the autumn-winter period of 2024/25.
